Action

  1. Turn Off the Boiler:

    • Switch off your boiler at the mains isolation switch, usually a fused switch near the boiler or water tank.
    • This will power down the boiler, and the Hive receiver will lose its lights.
  2. Remove the Thermostat:

    • Press the tab underneath the thermostat to remove it from the wall.
    • Take the thermostat to the boiler or hot water tank if there is one.
  3. Remove a Battery:

    • Remove one battery from the thermostat and leave it out.
  4. Turn the Boiler Back On:

    • Switch the boiler back on at the mains isolation switch.
    • The receiver’s status light in the top right corner should now be illuminated again.
  5. Reinsert the Battery:

    • Put the battery back into your thermostat.
  6. Reattach the Thermostat:

    • Place the thermostat back on the wall.
    • It should display the temperature with the normal screen.
  7. Turn On the Heating:

    • Turn the dial on the front of the thermostat and press it in to raise the target temperature above the room temperature shown on the thermostat.
  8. Check for Success:

    • If successful, you’ll hear the boiler fire up.
    • The receiver’s central heating light will turn green, indicating that Hive has asked the boiler to turn on.
