How to Install Your Hive Window or Door Sensor

To install your Hive Window or Door Sensor, please follow the steps below. Note that removing the adhesive strips from painted surfaces may leave marks.

Step-by-Step Guide:

1. Check Signal Strength:

   • Before fixing the sensor in place, check its signal strength using the Hive app by tapping 'Manage' and then 'Devices'. 

2. Position the Sensor:

   • The sensor consists of two parts: one goes on the door (or window) and the other on the frame. Align the marked strips on both parts, as shown in the image below:
   • Ensure the sensor parts are no more than 10mm apart when the door, cupboard, or window is closed to ensure proper triggering when opened.
3. Attach the Adhesive Strips:
   • Peel the smallest strip from the backing paper and stick it to the smaller part of the sensor.
   • Stick the largest strip to the larger part of the sensor.
4. Prepare the Surface:
   • Wipe the area on the door or window frame where the adhesive strips will be attached and allow it to dry completely.
5. Fix the Sensor in Place:

• • Remove the backing from the adhesive strips and firmly place the sensor on the door or window frame.
  • Ensure there is enough space to slide open the sensor case for future battery replacement.
