Before You Start

Our Hub 360 and Nano3 Hub's offer Wi-Fi connectivity to connect them make sure the following are ready:

  • Bluetooth is turned on on your phone
  • Bluetooth permissions are enabled for the Hive app in your phone’s settings
  • You are not using a VPN, as this can interfere with setup
  • You are near your hub and Wi‑Fi router

Setting Up Your Nano3 Hive Hub (New Installation) Image

When installing your Nano3 hub, we recommend installing it by connecting it directly to your router via an Ethernet cable first. This will allow for quick and easy connection and will allow the hub to complete any necessary firmware updates as quickly as possible.

Once your Nano3 hub is online and connected to your Hive App, connecting to Wi-Fi is a straightforward process, as can be seen in this helpful video.

Changing Your Nano3 Hub from Ethernet Connection to Wi-Fi

  1. Disconnect the Ethernet connection
    • Remove the Ethernet cable from the back of your Nano3 Hub, but remember to keep the power cable connected
  2. Put the Nano3 Hub into Bluetooth pairing mode
    • Press and hold the black button on the back of your hub for 10 seconds, or until your hub begins to flash blue
  3. Open the Hive app
    • Go to Manage Devices then 'My devices'
    • Find and tap your Nano3 Hub in the device list
  4. Update Wi‑Fi settings
    • Tap “Change Wi‑Fi”
    • Follow the in‑app setup wizard to reconnect your hub

Setting Up Your Hub 360 (New Installation) Image

  1. Power on your hub
    • Plug your Hub 360 into a mains power socket using the supplied cable
    • Place it:
  2. Wait for the light (Hub 360 only)
    • The hub light will:
      • Start flashing white (this may take a few minutes)
      • Then change to a spinning blue light
    • If the light turns solid blue:
      • Turn the hub off and on again
      • Wait for the spinning blue light
  3. Connect using the Hive app
    • Open the Hive app and log in
    • Go to:
      • Manage → Add a Device → Hive Hub
    • Follow the on‑screen instructions to connect your hub to Wi‑Fi

 TIP: The two USB ports on the rear of your Hub 360 are reserved for future upgrades. Please avoid using them to charge other devices, as this may damage your Hub 360. 

Helpful Tips

  • Keep your hub within range of your Wi‑Fi router
  • Avoid placing it near:
    • Thick walls
    • Large metal objects
    • Other wireless hubs that may cause interference

Troubleshooting

If you have trouble connecting:

  • Restart your hub and router
  • Make sure your phone stays close to the hub during setup
  • Double-check Wi‑Fi password accuracy
  • Ensure no VPN or mobile hotspot is active
