Using Your Hive Light: On/Off, Brightness, and Colour Control

You can control your Hive Light directly from the Hive app once it’s installed and connected.

1. Log in to the Hive App
   Open the Hive app and sign in using your username and password.

2. Select Your Hive Light
   From the Home Dashboard, find the Hive Light you want to control.

3. Turn the Light On or Off
   You can do this in two ways:

   • Tap the toggle switch next to the light on the dashboard, or
   • Tap the light card to open the control screen, then tap the circle in the centre of the screen.
     The text inside the circle shows whether the light is currently On or Off.

 TIP: Once your Hive Light is installed, try not to switch it off manually at the wall or lamp. If the power is off, the light can’t be controlled remotely until it’s switched back on. 

Manual Control

If needed, you can still use your existing wall or lamp switch to turn the light on or off.

Hive Lights have built‑in dimming, which you can control from the Hive app.

How to Adjust Brightness

1. Open the Hive App and log in.
2. Select Your Hive Light from the dashboard or devices list.
3. Adjust the Brightness
   • Use the dimming ring around the central on/off button.
   • Slide to the right to increase brightness or to the left to decrease it.
   • The centre of the circle shows the current brightness level.

 TIP: Your light must be switched on to access the dimming control. Tap the centre circle to turn it on if needed. 

Important Information About Dimming

• Built‑in Dimming: Hive Lights are dimmed using the Hive app or website dashboard.
• Wall Dimmer Switches: Hive Lights are not compatible with wall‑mounted dimmer switches.
• Recommended Usage:
  If you have a wall dimmer switch, keep it in the undimmed (full on) position to prevent buzzing, flickering, or performance issues.

If you have a compatible Hive Light, you can change its colour using the Hive app.

How to Change the Colour

1. Open the Hive app and log in.
2. Select Your Hive Light (Colour Changing or Cool to Warm White).
3. Turn the light on if it’s currently off.
4. Activate Colour Mode
   Tap the Colour icon in the bottom‑right corner of the screen.
5. Choose Your Colour
   Use the colour slider to move through the spectrum and select your preferred shade.

Key Points to Remember

• App Control Only: All colour changes are made through the Hive app.
