Removing a device from your Hive app is a straightforward process. Follow the steps below to ensure a smooth removal:

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Ensure the Device is Online:

    • Make sure the device you want to remove is powered on and connected to your Hive Hub (the Hive Hub cannot be removed from your Hive App, as it is the device that your other Hive devices connect to, the only time you should remove the Hive Hub from your account is if you are moving home and leaving the Hive Hub for the new occupant, for more information on this please see What to do with your Hive Products when Moving Home), or Wi-Fi.
  2. Open the Hive App:

    • Launch the Hive app on your smartphone or tablet.
    • From your dashboard, tap on the Manage icon.
  3. Manage Devices:

    • In the menu, select Manage devices.
  4. Select and Remove Device:

    • Tap on the device you wish to remove from the list of connected devices.
    • Tap on Remove device to complete the process.

Important Note

How do I remove a hub, thermostat or receiver from my account?

You can now remove your hub, thermostat and receiver directly from the Hive app — but only when the devices are offline. 

To do this, open the app, go to the Manage tab, tap on Devices, and select the offline device you want to remove.  NOTE: Removing one of the receiver or thermostat will automatically remove both from your account, and you’ll need to pair them again to continue using them.
