How to Set Up Your Pet Friendly Motion/Hive Motion Sensor

Hive Pet Friendly Motion Sensors and Pet Friendly Sensors are innovative devices that help secure your home by detecting motion and sending notifications to your phone via the Hive App. This guide provides comprehensive information on setting up, fitting, and understanding how these sensors work.

Setting Up Your Sensor

1. Open the Hive App: Tap Manage > Install a Device > Install Hive Devices > Other Hive Devices.
2. Follow Instructions: Pull the tab from the sensor case to start pairing. The LED will flash amber while searching for your Hub.
3. Save Sensor: Once the sensor appears on the screen, save it. Your sensor is now ready to use.

 NOTE: Set up one sensor fully before starting the next if you have multiple sensors. 

Fitting Your Sensor

1. Choose Location: Find a spot with a good view of the area. Place the sensor 2-3m from the floor to avoid blind spots.
2. Check Signal: Ensure the signal is strong before fixing the sensor in place.
3. Attach Sensor: Use adhesive strips to attach the sensor. Ensure the surface is clean and dry.
4. Leave Space for Battery Replacement: Make sure there’s enough space to slide open the case for future battery changes.

 NOTE: Motion sensors detect up to 5 metres with an 82° vertical and 94° horizontal field of view. Pet Friendly Sensors detect up to 8 metres with an 80° field of view. 

Understanding Your Sensor

• Hive Motion Sensor: Detects motion and sends notifications via the Hive App. Set schedules using Hive Actions.
• Hive Pet Friendly Sensor: Uses infrared technology to detect motion without triggering for pets under 36kg.
