Answer
Welcome to your new home! If you’ve moved into a house that already has Hive products installed, here’s what you need to do to get everything up and running smoothly:
Step-by-Step Guide
-
Check for a Hive Hub:
- If there is already a Hive Hub in the property, it will need to be linked to your email address before you can control your heating using the Hive app. Follow the steps below under “How to detach the Hive Hub and transfer it to your account”.
- If you’ve brought your own Hive Hub from a previous home, simply plug it in and follow the instructions here to link the existing heating devices in your new home to your account.
- If there isn’t a Hive Hub in the property and you want to control your heating remotely via the app, you’ll need to purchase a new Hive Hub.
- If there’s no hub in the property, you can still control your heating and hot water manually using the thermostat on the wall.
-
Signal Booster:
- If there is a signal booster in the home, make sure to switch it on. This helps in extending the range of your Hive network.
-
Other Hive Products:
- For any other Hive products in the home, you will not be able to use them until you have purchased a Hive Hub and created your own Hive user account.
- Hive Plus:
- The warranty on an existing Hub may have expired. Become a Hive+ member to get the most out of your Hive products and access further technical support. This does not affect your ability to control your heating system manually.
