Answer
If your car is charging at a slower rate than expected, this may be for a few reasons:
- The charger can charge at a maximum of 7-7.4kW when the battery is below 80% full. The charging rate will gradually decline as the battery power increases.
- If the weather is particularly cold, the car will take longer to charge. Consider pre-heating your car or parking your car indoors where possible.
- If the charging speed is consistently around 3.6kW-4kW, make sure the specs of your EV and charging cable support higher charging rates. If you are not sure what to check on your vehicle, please get in touch with your local dealership or manufacturer for support.
