Demo mode on your Hive thermostat is a feature designed to show off the device's capabilities without affecting your actual home heating. This mode is particularly useful for exploring all the functionalities and settings of the thermostat as if it were connected to your system, but without making any real changes to your home's environment. It's ideal for getting familiar with how the thermostat works before using it in everyday scenarios. If your thermostat is in this mode by accident, simply switch the thermostat from demo mode to its standard operating mode by following the steps below. Hive Thermostat Mini
To activate the demo mode on your Hive Mini device, you need to reboot the device first. Then, while on the Firmware version, Searching, or Reconnecting screen, simply press and hold both the DOWN and UP buttons together for three seconds. Once the demo mode is activated, the device will display the Connected message, followed by the actual temperature screen.
- If you wish to exit the demo mode, you can perform a factory reset by pressing and holding the DOWN and HOME buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds.
Hive 2 Thermostat & Hive Hard Wired Thermostat
To activate the demo mode on your Hive thermostat, you need to reboot the device first. Then, while on the Firmware version, Searching, or Reconnecting screen, press and hold both the Hot Water Boost and Menu buttons for three seconds.
- If you want to exit the demo mode, you can perform a factory reset. Just press and hold the Back and Menu buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds.
