How to Power On/Off Your Hive View or Hive View Outdoor

Powering On/Off

The Hive View and Hive View Outdoor cameras can be physically powered on and off. When powered off, the camera will appear as offline in the Hive app and will cease functioning until turned back on.

  • For Hive View:

    • To Power Off: Remove the camera cube from the stand and press the power button located on the underside of the camera cube.
    • To Power On: Press the power button for 1-2 seconds or reattach the camera cube to the stand when the stand is connected to mains power.
  • For Hive View Outdoor:

    • Simply turn the power off and on again at the power socket.

Remote Monitoring

You can also manage your privacy by remotely switching camera monitoring on or off. When monitoring is on, livestreaming and event detection are active. When monitoring is off, these features will be unavailable.


How to Turn Off the Lights on Your Hive View or Hive View Outdoor

To turn off the lights on your camera, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Hive app and log in with your username and password.
  2. Select the camera you wish to adjust from the dashboard.
  3. Tap the “Settings” icon and navigate to the “Camera” section.
  4. Toggle the “Ring light” and “Dot light” options on or off.
  5. Select “Save” if prompted.

How to Turn Off the Chimes on Your Hive View or Hive View Outdoor

To disable the chimes, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Hive app and log in if necessary.
  2. Select the camera from the dashboard.
  3. Tap the “Settings” icon and go to the “Device” section.
  4. Toggle the “Status chimes" option on or off.
  5. Select “Save” if prompted.

How to View Your Hive View or Hive View Outdoor HD Live Stream

To access the live stream, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Hive app and log in if needed.
  2. Select the camera you wish to view from the dashboard.
  3. Tap “Go Live” in the viewing pane.

Tips for Live Streaming

  • Orientation: You can tilt your device to watch the live stream in landscape or portrait mode.
  • Zooming: Pinch or double-tap the screen to zoom in for a closer view.
  • Stopping the Stream: To pause the live stream, select “Pause” from the control screen by tapping the viewing pane.

Troubleshooting Live Stream Issues

  • If you encounter an error message while streaming, tap the “Refresh” icon to try again.
  • If the message ‘Oops, something went wrong’ persists, refresh the app dashboard and return to your camera to select ‘Go Live’.
  • If camera monitoring is off, you will see a ‘monitoring off’ message. You cannot livestream until it is switched back on using the shield icon in the app.
  • If the camera is powered off or has no connection, an offline message will appear. You won’t be able to livestream without an internet connection.
