Answer

Will My HomeShield Still Work Offline?

Yes, your HomeShield system will continue to function even if you lose your broadband connection. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Sensor Operation: Your HomeShield sensors will remain active, and if the alarm is triggered, the siren will sound, and the keypad will still work. However, you will not receive any notifications during this time.
  • Restoration of Connection: Once your internet connection is restored, all reports and activity logs will be updated automatically.

What Happens If I Lose Power?

If your home loses power, the situation changes slightly:

  • Hub Offline: When the power goes out, your hub will go offline, and your HomeShield system will be deactivated. This means you will not receive notifications, and the alarm cannot be raised.
  • Return to Previous Mode: When power is restored, the system will revert to the mode you had set before the outage.

Siren Battery Backup

In the event of a power failure, your siren is equipped with a battery backup that lasts for up to 12 hours, including a 30-minute alarm. You will receive a notification indicating that your siren is operating on battery power.
