What You’ll Need
Before you start, ensure you have the following equipment:
- Power Drill: A masonry drill bit of at least 400mm length is essential.
- Tall Ladder: This will help you safely reach the recommended installation height.
- Safety Gear: Consider using safety goggles and gloves for protection.
Installation Steps

Open the Hive App:
- Select Menu > Install Devices > Install Hive HomeShield.
- Confirm that the location check displays the correct address.

Choose Installation Method:
- Select Install myself to begin the DIY process.

Follow the On-Screen Instructions:
- Carefully read through each screen in the app. Pay attention to notes and advice regarding device placement and camera settings.

Install Devices One at a Time:
- Proceed to install each device as instructed. Take your time to ensure everything is set up correctly.

Add Existing Hive Devices:
- After installing, you’ll have the option to enable any existing Hive devices. This feature allows you to integrate devices not yet included in HomeShield.
- Select the devices and specify their locations to view them room-by-room in your HomeShield dashboard.
