Standalone mode allows your Hive thermostat and receiver to operate independently of the Hive Hub. This mode is useful if you experience connectivity issues or if you need to temporarily control your heating system without relying on the Hub.
In standalone mode, the thermostat communicates directly with the receiver to control your heating system. This ensures that your heating can still function even if there are network problems or if the Hub is unavailable.
Receiver - Dual channel (Left), Single channel (Right)
Step 1: Turn the boiler off at the isolation switch/fuse spur
Step 2: Remove the Thermostat from the Wall
Step 3: Remove the batteries from the Thermostat
Step 4: Switch the boiler back on
Step 5: Putting the receiver into standalone ‘search mode’
Step 6: Reset Thermostat
Step 7: Verify Connection
Step 8: Test the boiler
NOTE: If you have a dual channel receiver and a conventional boiler, you may have to put the Receiver into ‘Gravity fed mode’ for your heating to come on, as with gravity-fed or part-pumped boilers the hot water needs to be on at the same time for the heating to function. For information how to do this, see Gravity Fed Mode for Hive Thermostats.
