Answer
EV not Power+
You may experience issues getting started with Power+ due to:
- Connectivity Issues: Ensure strong connectivity when charging, as problems can arise from the charger location, hardware, or software.
- Conflicting Schedules: Disable any conflicting schedules in the Hive app or the vehicle itself for Power+ to work.
- Power+ Disabled: Ensure Power+ is enabled in the schedule settings on the Hive app.
If you are still having problems with Power+, please call 0333 202 1054, then select option 2 for warranty. When calling, please have your charger ID to hand and a short description of the issue, as well as when the charges took place.
Time of Use Tariffs
Power+ works with both single-rate and time of use tariffs. If you’re on a time of use tariff, please note that we will only charge your EV during off-peak hours in Power+ mode. If you need your EV to charge before your next off-peak period, you will need to override the Power+ schedule, and you will not receive a credit for this or any other overridden transactions.
Missing Credits
Energy Tariff Check:
- We periodically refresh the details from your linked British Gas account in the Hive app to ensure your tariff details are up to date. Please check the details held in the Hive app align with your current tariff.
- Once credits have been calculated and applied to your bill, please check that they are correct if a tariff change has taken place during the period the credits apply to.
Common Issues:
- Incorrect Credit Display: Rest assured that all EV charging is recorded, and you will receive the appropriate credit in your next bill.
- Delayed Credit: Please note that credits are added to your British Gas energy account the month after a full month of charging, e.g. charging done between 1st-28th February will be credited in March. You will then be able to view the credit on the next bill that is generated. Monthly billed customers will see one credit line per month, but quarterly billed customer will see up to three credit lines, with one for each month they earned Power+ credits.
Power+ for Plug-In Hybrids
The beauty of Power+ is that you can still take advantage of it with a Hybrid, so long as it’s a plug-in. Even if the car only needs a small amount of charge, you’d still get 25% off the cost of it while in Power+ mode.
