Gravity Fed Mode for Hive Thermostats

Gravity-fed and part-pumped systems are wired differently from standard boilers. In these systems, hot water switches on with the heating. If you have a part-pumped or gravity-fed system, you need to change the receiver to the correct mode, so Hive knows how to operate the heating and hot water.

Gravity-Fed Mode:

• In gravity-fed mode, you can call for hot water only, but calling for heating will also turn on the hot water to fire the boiler.

Switching to Gravity-Fed Mode:

1. Switch off the boiler using the isolation switch.
2. Wait at least 5 seconds, then switch the isolation switch back on.
3. Press and hold the hot water button on the receiver for at least 10 seconds until the status light turns BLUE.
4. The receiver will flash BLUE for 3 seconds, then go solid BLUE to indicate it is in gravity-fed mode.
