Answer

If your solar battery seems slower than usual, here are two common reasons why:

1. Cold Weather

Batteries work using chemical reactions, and cold temperatures slow those reactions down. This means:

  • Charging takes longer
  • Discharging (using stored energy) is slower

TIP: If safe and recommended by the manufacturer, you can improve performance by adding insulation around the battery to help keep it warm.

2. Battery Charging Behaviour

Your battery charges fastest when it’s below 80% full. As it gets closer to full, the charging speed slows down. This helps protect the battery and extend its lifespan.
