This document outlines how Daikin heat pumps integrate with the Hive App (Works with Hive) to provide:
- Space heating control
- Domestic hot water (DHW) control
- Onboarding process and requirements
- Using the Hive app
NOTE: The Hive integration relies on Daikin’s Onecta API, and the heat pump must support remote connectivity.
Onboarding & Requirements
To connect a Daikin heat pump to Hive:
- In the Hive App: go to Add devices → Works with Hive → Daikin.
- Follow the on-screen prompts.
- Users must already have a working Onecta account linked to their heat pump.
Heat Pump Requirements
- Must support remote connectivity (Wi-Fi / gateway / wireless module).
- Must work in Daikin’s Onecta app.
- Hive will initially display the target temperature and mode from the Onecta API.
