Setting Up Your Hive Plug

Setting up Hive Plugs is straightforward, but it’s best to do it one plug at a time. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you get started:

For New Hive Users:

1. Set Up Your Hub:

   • Connect to Router: Use the Ethernet cable provided to connect your hub to your broadband router.
   • Power Up: Plug the hub into a mains power socket using the power cable. For optimal performance, place the hub on a table or shelf, avoiding floors or enclosed spaces like cupboards.

2. Log In and Connect:

   • Access the Hive App: Log in using the Hive app.
   • Enter Hub ID: When prompted, enter the hub ID found on the bottom of the hub.
   • Follow Instructions: Select “Connect” and follow the on-screen instructions.

3. Set Up Your Hive Plug:

   • Plug In: Insert your Hive Plug into a mains socket and switch it on. It will flash amber while searching for your hub.
   • Save and Confirm: Once the plug appears on the screen, save it. The LED light will stop flashing, indicating it’s connected.

For Existing Hive Users:

1. Log In:

   • Access Your Account: Log in to your account using the Hive app with your username and password.

2. Install Devices:

   • Open Dashboard: Navigate to the main Dashboard.
   • Tap ‘Add’ at the bottom of this page.
   • Tap ‘Install New Device’.
   • Follow Instructions: Follow the on-screen instructions.

3. Set Up Your Hive Plug:

   • Plug In: Insert your Hive Plug into a mains socket and switch it on. It will flash amber while searching for your hub.
   • Save and Confirm: Once the plug appears on the screen, save it. The LED light will stop flashing, indicating it’s connected.
